Contemporary Symbolic Objects

IN Residence is proud to present the group show “Talisman, Contemporary Symbolic Objects” in the magnificent setting of Palazzo Clerici in Milan. The exhibition, with an exclusive display design, presents 46 contemporary talismans, one-of-a-kind pieces made for the occasion by 46 designers who over the years have taken part in the IN Residence project.

TALISMAN: the auction
Saturday, 8 April 2017, 3 PM

At the end of the exhibition on view during the days of Design Week in Milan, the 46 talismans on display will be the protagonists of an auction open to the public. The event, organized and produced by the Swedish auction house Örnsbergsauktionen for IN Residence, will be held in the extraordinary setting of the Sala Arazzi of Palazzo Clerici. The Book

In parallel with the group show at Palazzo Clerici, the publishing house Corraini releases the book “Talisman, Contemporary Symbolic Objects. Edited by Barbara Brondi & Marco Rainò, the precious volume includes a series of critical interpretations of the theme, while illustrating the 46 contemporary talismans specially created for the exhibition-event of the same name.

@ Milan Design Week 2017

The tenth book of the “IN Residence. Design Dialogues” collection, published by Corraini will be launched on the occasion of the Milan Design Week. The book features works by designers Marlène Huissoud, Fernando Laposse, Carlo Lorenzetti, Nick Ross, Birgit Severin, Tijmen Smeulders and narrates the days of the thematic workshop “Imaginative Rituals”.

IN Residence Workshop #10 IMAGINATIVE RITUALS

The tenth edition of the IN Residence workshop will take place in Turin from October 4th to 8th, 2016. The investigation and the research will be based on the topic IMAGINATIVE RITUALS. The protagonists of this event will be the designers Marlène Huissoud, Fernando Laposse, Carlo Lorenzetti, Nick Ross, Birgit Severin, Tijmen Smeulders.

@ Milan Design Week 2016

The ninth book of the “IN Residence. Design Dialogues” collection, published by Corraini will be launched on the occasion of the Milan Design Week. The book features works by designers Ferréol Babin, Jonas Edvard, Germans Ermičs, Gionata Gatto, Sabine Marcelis e Jólan van der Wiel and narrates the days of the thematic workshop “Visible Invisible” during which the designers have been working together with selected students developing a critical opinion on the theme of the investigation.

VISIBLE INVISIBLE

VISIBLE INVISIBLE is the title of the research that the ninth edition of IN Residence will explore in the next Workshop, hosted in Turin from October 7th to 10th 2015. The protagonists of this event, invited to establish a dialogue with a selected group of students, will be the designers Ferréol Babin, Jonas Edvard, Germans Ermičs, Gionata Gatto, Sabine Marcelis e Jólan van der Wiel.

THE READING RITUAL

“IN Residence Collectables” is the new spin-off of the IN Residence project dedicated to the production of “exploration devices” in order to stimulate a reflection on the relationship that we establish with the objects surrounding us. The objects will be designed over time by a selection of the IN Residence workshops’ protagonists. “The Reading Ritual”, the first object, it’s the pilot project designed by Barbara Brondi & Marco Rainò.

Milan Design Week 2015

The new two books of the IN Residence’s series published by Corraini will be presented as a preview on the occasion of the Milan Design Week at Ventura Lambrate, via Ventura 6, from April 14th to 19th. The two books, feature an overview of two workshops, “Today Was Tomorrow” and “Resononce Tuning”.

IN Residence Diary #5 Little Daily Wonders has been included in the ADI Design Index 2014 which is the publication of ADI, the Italian Association for industrial design, that collects, year after year, the best of Italian design put into production, selected by ADI design permanent observatory.

A meeting to present to Operae’s audience the IN Residence project. Barbara Brondi and Marco Rainò introduces a dialogue with the “guest designer” protagonists of the eighth edition of the workshop entitled “Resonance Tuning”. “TODAY WAS TOMORROW” a video dedicated to the recent involvement of the IN Residence project at La Biennale di Venezia will conclude the presentation.
